EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR CURRICULUM:

Principles & Fundamentals of Glass Cutting & Breakout
This presentation trains individuals to properly select and use glass cutting wheels. It describes proper break out technique. It teaches operators how to read and evaluate the fresh edge and it trains people how to build a strong piece of glass.

Glass Edging Principles
The purpose of this program is to teach individuals how to grind a strong edge on the glass. Students are taught how to create and maintain a rhythm in their process. Students are taught how to sharpen impregnated diamond tools and the importance of a consistent sharpening frequency.

Seaming the Edges of Glass; Seaming Belt Training
The purpose of this program is to teach individuals about seaming belts and why glass edges are seamed prior to tempering glass. The importance of seam size and sanding belt grit size is discussed along with the relationship of seam size to glass thickness.

Drilling Holes and Grinding Notches
The purpose of this program is to train individuals to properly use drilling and grinding tools on glass. Drilling, routing and edge finishing processes are described and discussed. Tool sharpening frequency is discussed along with ASTM standards for fabricated and heat treated glass.
